  • Lion Robert – Serving for 53+ years

“I continue to be a Lion because of Campaign Sight First I & II in which we Lions work to eliminate all preventable blindness throughout the world. I continue to be a member of the Next Gen Lions because we do good service projects & fundraisers and have great meetings in which members share ideas, people respond positively, often volunteering, and our meetings are fun.”

“I joined the Minneapolis Downtown Next Gen Lions Club because I wanted to give back to my community in a meaningful way. What I found was a group of passionate, driven people who genuinely care about making a difference—whether it's supporting local families, hosting events, or partnering with organizations to do good. It’s more than service—it’s purpose with friends.”

  • Lion Ross - Serving for 37+ years

“I joined a local Lions Club years ago to network for my new business. I didn’t truly become a Lion until nearly a decade later, when my mother began losing her sight. The University of Minnesota eye clinic—supported by the Lions—approved her for a double corneal transplant. After surgery, she could read again, finishing 2–3 books a week until she passed.

That experience showed me the true power of Lions: hundreds of people working together to preserve sight. For the past 37 years, I’ve been giving back to the organization that gave my mother the gift of vision.”

  • Lion Julia - Serving for 6 + years
